Laser cutting machines help to create many customized items by using laser technology to etch, engrave, and cut through a wide variety of materials. For example, laser cutters are used to create math manipulatives, puzzles, graphic designs, and more. This course gives participants the knowledge and practice required to safely operate the machine on their own and provides an understanding of the different pieces of hardware through short discussions and hands-on experiences. Participants will calibrate and configure the machine for different tasks and materials appropriate for classroom use and also learn to troubleshoot common issues that can occur during use of the machine. Participants who complete the training will be certified to use the machine and can reserve it for further practice and use. Note: This course is not a tutorial on the use of design software but will provide basic information on fundamental design elements.  Cost: $75.00

Note: This is NOT a volunteer opportunity.  It is an educator workshop intended for RAFT members.  Sign up for the workshop by entering your information.  We will email you with options for paying the $75 fee to complete your registration.
