RAFT and National Young Game Inventors Contest (NYGIC)
RAFT is partnering with University Games to encourage young innovators to create new and engaging board games through this nationwide contest. The grand prize is a $10,000 savings bond and a chance to have the game published.
5-12 year old inventors are eligible to submit original board game ideas to National Young Game Inventors Contest now through October 15th, 2014. Want some inspiration? Get a Game Inspiration Kit with all the foundational game pieces your young inventors need to start making a game, available online and at RAFT. More information about the contest and the entry form are available at www.nygic.org.
Children Welcome Every Thursday
Children under 12 will be welcome at RAFT San Jose every Thursday all day (10:30am-7:00pm) to make shopping easier for members with children. The pilot on 1st Wednesdays was well-received so we have decided to make it weekly on Thursdays (no longer on the 1st Wednesday).
Policy for Children
RAFT is a professional organization where educators can find individualized support, opportunities to connect with other teaching professionals, and time and space for reflection away from students as they prepare future lessons. To ensure that the RAFT environment can meet those needs, our policy is that teachers may only bring their children to RAFT on Thursday. Parents must stay with their children at all times. Children under 12 years old are not permitted in the Green Room at any time.
Thanks for your cooperation and feel free to contact us at email@example.com if you have any questions.
