Production & Warehouse Assistant – Temporary

Summary of Position

Mission: The mission of Resource Area For Teaching (RAFT) is to help educators transform the learning experience through “hands-on” education that inspires the joy and discovery of learning.

 

Position Summary: The Production & Warehouse Assistant works with the Kit Production team to prepare for volunteer activities.  He/ She pulls and prepares parts for production, while performing general warehouse work as required.

 

This is a full-time temporary position, with no benefits.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Work extensively with the Volunteer Program Manager and Inventory, Purchasing and Production Lead to coordinate kit production, processing and specialty product packaging.
  • Pull, stage, and return kit components to their proper warehouse location.
  • Straighten up and clean up the warehouse floor after volunteer events.
  • Provide back-up support to Volunteer Program Manager when not available.
  • Maintain excellent customer service (internal and external) and professional relationships with volunteers.
  • Perform general warehouse functions, including sorting and processing donations and organizing stock. Assist with cycle counts as needed.
  • Sort packages, supplies, and other materials for storage in assigned warehouse locations, delivery to RAFT retail sites, and/or RAFT personnel.
  • Assist with order fulfillment, which includes order look-up, pulling kits, and shipping.
  • Work closely with Warehouse staff to ensure recycling guidelines are defined and followed.
  • Additional duties as needed to support organizational needs.
Education

High School diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Experience

1-2 years of relevant experience.

Skills
  • Communication – Write and speak English clearly and concisely.
  • Excellent written, verbal and phone skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure.
  • Manage time effectively with limited supervision.
  • Well-organized and detail-oriented with a problem-solving approach.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have experience working with Microsoft software applications; data entry and database management preferred.

Work Schedule

Full time, Temporary 40 hours per week.
