Acterra, a leading nonprofit that brings people together to create solutions for a healthy planet, has awarded its highest Business Environmental Award for 2011 to RAFT. This award recognizes organizations that demonstrate leadership in providing significant environmental benefits through programs that can serve as models for the business community. A Certified Green organization, RAFT creates hands-on education kits and teaching supplies from largely repurposed surplus materials which would otherwise have gone to landfills. Previous winners of the award include Applied Materials, UC Santa Cruz, and other world class organizations.
