In addition to serving the needs of educators and students, a key tenant of RAFT's mission is to be stewards of the environment. RAFT provides educators with an abundance of affordable materials and supplies while diverting roughly 400 cubic feet of materials from landfills each and every day!

Here is how RAFT is able to provide affordable hands-on education tools that engage students and increase their learning comprehension by upcycling donated materials:
- Bay Area businesses donate materials that would otherwise end up in landfills.
- Our RAFT Education and Kit Product teams create hands-on teaching ideas that make use of donated materials.
- Thousands of volunteers assemble these materials into affordable hands-on education kits.
- Financial donations help to further underwrite costs.
It's this model that makes it possible for all students to benefit from hands-on education, regardless of budget.
